We After living & being educated in many countries of the world including UK, Sudan, Spain, Sweden & Australia to name but a few, Terry started his career in lighting with hobbies such as fishing & camping which both require a perfect light setting.  In Spain he dealt with some of the top DJ’s in Magaluf & Tenerife, where he found his love of lighting & setting the mood for some of the best night clubs in Europe.  After 5 years of developing an extensive knowledge of nightclub lighting, he then moved to Australia & took upon himself to become one of the top interior designers in NSW & Australia, helping his clients design & set the mood for some of the most retro styled homes in Sydney, NSW.  Taking care of indoor & outdoor heating & lighting solutions, to compliment the retro style homes that have been featured in many magazines all over the world, including Trend, Home Beautiful & Black & White, to mention just a few.  

After returning to the UK, after spending 20 years developing his career in Retro Lighting, he decided to concentrate on his love of pressure lamps & heaters from the 1920’s to present date.  He takes great pride in bringing the ‘Tilley’ & other pressure lamps like ‘Vapalux’, ‘Bialaddin’, etc. back to life, bringing them back to their former glory, only ever using genuine vintage original parts, to recreate a mood in outdoor lighting i.e. camping, fishing, BBQ’s & various social events.  Terry says there is nothing better than hearing a mesmerising hissing sound of a beautiful pressure lamp or heater to set the mood & tranquility in a fishing & camping environment, or even on your own patio, with a drop of Red in the Winter, or a chilled Chardonnay in the Summer months.

After realising his passion for pressure lamps & heaters couldn’t be contained, he decided to add to his portfolio of retro lighting by dabbling in retro electric lighting.  He is now extremely proud to offer yet again more lighting including Anglepoise, Herbert Terry, Hadrill Horstman & any other retro lighting that is designed & made in the UK or Europe.  Again, he insists on sourcing original parts to secure the integrity of his lamps & Terry, or one of his team also PAT Tests & re-wires all the electrical lamps & heaters available.

Terry believes that every single lamp, has a story to tell, whether it’s a Tilley FL6 helping to land planes in WWII, or a Herbert Terry 1227 often used by professionals working through the night, solving problems underneath a perfect light.  Terry would love to have been a fly on the wall to see these lamps in their original environment.  Due to the age of the lamps & stories they tell, they may have come across some bumps & bruises, which is only to be expected from these beautiful lamps in working environments.  In Terry’s opinion, this only adds to the character, & is not just an imported lamp, that would never survive a couple of years, never mind a lifetime.
